Installation:

  • Download the latest version from here: https://client.compass-ed.org/development/

    • Windows

  • It's an MSI, so just double clicking on it, once it's downloaded should install it.
  • After installation, click the Windows start icon, and then 'All Programs' and at the very top of the list should be 'Compass Client', select that and you should be all set!
  • The first time it launches it might take a bit to 'startup' (a few minutes) and it may start installers for xMing, and Portable Putty. You will need to let these install for cpClient to work.

    • MacOS

    It's a disk image (DMG), you need to drag both apps over, XQuartz and CompassClient.

    Help!

    Printing through a local windows printer.

    It's really easy! Inside compass, select 'CompassClientPrinter' when printing. A little how-to movie is available here.

    This should then generate the .PDF file, download it to your local windows machine, and launch Adobe PDF reader with the selected PDF file. IF this doesn't work for some reason, or you need to look/reprint previously printed files, you can login to the compass web portal and from the menu under your email address select 'My web Print Jobs'.     Testing your connection to Compass.

    If you find yourself thinking your Compass is slow, We have deployed a speedtest tool available here. It tests against our server(s) directly. If you notice jitter or ping greater than 100, then please reach out to us.
